Roto-Rooter Retrieves U.S. Marine's Ring After it Was Flushed Down a Toilet

Marine Corps veteran, Rick Reyes, was devastated when the ring he inherited from his grandfather, who was also a Marine, was accidently flushed down the toilet. After several plumbing companies told Reyes it would cost thousands of dollars to find and recover his ring from his home's drainage system, a fellow Marine, now a Roto-Rooter plumber, stepped up to help.

Roto-Rooter plumber and Marine corps veteran, Avery Suelzer, was insistent on helping Reyes. Suelzer related to Reyes’ story because he too had lost his grandfather’s ring, and unfortunately it was never found. This connection made Suelzer determined to find Reyes’ ring. Suelzer and the team at Roto-Rooter of Kokomo, Indiana used their fiber optic sewer inspection camera snake to search through the plumbing until the ring was spotted and retrieved. The precious family heirloom was safely returned to Reyes. To watch a video news report about this story, go here.
