How to prevent frozen pipes and what to do if they freeze?
Wrap water supply pipes with foam pipe insulation sleeves. Use heat tape on the most vulnerable pipes. Disconnect outside water hoses then cover outdoor faucets with foam insulation kits to prevent them from freezing. Open cabinet doors beneath sinks to so warm air will circulate around pipes. Allow water to trickle from faucets when temperatures drop below freezing. Keep furnace set no lower than 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If your pipes have already frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw the pipe. Point a space heater at the pipe or the wall containing the frozen pipe. Never use an open flame to heat a pipe! If necessary, call a plumber to thaw pipes. If a frozen pipe has burst, turn off the main water supply valve in the house and open faucets to relieve pressure and minimize damage.

The office/dispatcher did a very nice job of staying contact with us to make sure we had an accurate idea of when plumber would be arriving. When the plumber ... did arrive he was on time pleasant and polite. He evaluated the situation and gave us viable options. The service we chose was taken care of quickly and accurately. . We will use Roto-Rooter in the future and will refer others to them
Dave Collier(1096) was the service technician who came to my house. He was very kind, considerate, knew what he was doing and explained everything to me. I called several places ... this morning and Roto-Rooter was the only company that could come the same day. From the time I placed the call a service technician arrive to my hose within a half hour. I will refer people to you when the have a sewer problem. Thank you!
