How to prevent frozen pipes and what to do if they freeze?
Wrap water supply pipes with foam pipe insulation sleeves. Use heat tape on the most vulnerable pipes. Disconnect outside water hoses then cover outdoor faucets with foam insulation kits to prevent them from freezing. Open cabinet doors beneath sinks to so warm air will circulate around pipes. Allow water to trickle from faucets when temperatures drop below freezing. Keep furnace set no lower than 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If your pipes have already frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw the pipe. Point a space heater at the pipe or the wall containing the frozen pipe. Never use an open flame to heat a pipe! If necessary, call a plumber to thaw pipes. If a frozen pipe has burst, turn off the main water supply valve in the house and open faucets to relieve pressure and minimize damage.
Recent Customer Reviews
Jeff # 1174 was very professional and arrived at my home within the time given from his office. He knew what was wrong within minutes and completed the job in ... a very reasonable time. Will use again.
This was my first using Roto-Rooter. I had heard about them before, and found their number on their website. Upon calling, I was pleasantly greeted immediately, and was able to ... schedule an appointment the same day. As promised, I received a call 30 minutes before the appointment to reconfirm. The technician, Rosiam, arrived on time and wore shoe covers to protect my floors. He was very courteous and professional. He got the work done quickly and completely, and provided diagnosis on where I may need future work. I really appreciate Rosiam and Roto-Rooter, and look forward to doing business with them again.
I'm pleased that you sent the same guy that you sent in November.Mark L.
