How to prevent frozen pipes and what to do if they freeze?
Wrap water supply pipes with foam pipe insulation sleeves. Use heat tape on the most vulnerable pipes. Disconnect outside water hoses then cover outdoor faucets with foam insulation kits to prevent them from freezing. Open cabinet doors beneath sinks to so warm air will circulate around pipes. Allow water to trickle from faucets when temperatures drop below freezing. Keep furnace set no lower than 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If your pipes have already frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw the pipe. Point a space heater at the pipe or the wall containing the frozen pipe. Never use an open flame to heat a pipe! If necessary, call a plumber to thaw pipes. If a frozen pipe has burst, turn off the main water supply valve in the house and open faucets to relieve pressure and minimize damage.
Recent Customer Reviews
The service technician was awesome. Very professional. Assessed the problem and got right on it. He had been to our home before and remembered everything. A very responsive company!!!
Aline L.Adam was very instrumental in the restoration of my sink. He is the man, and very easy to work with!
Edward A.Mr. W. Ross was prompt and extremely professional. He explained what the problem was and was quick to resolve it. He honored our home by removing his shoes ... and was polite the entire time. We live in an era where customer service is not always apparent, but Mr. Ross would be a great candidate for training others on how to treat customers with honor and respect. Excellent experience, especially since this was a last-minute request.
