How to prevent frozen pipes and what to do if they freeze?
Wrap water supply pipes with foam pipe insulation sleeves. Use heat tape on the most vulnerable pipes. Disconnect outside water hoses then cover outdoor faucets with foam insulation kits to prevent them from freezing. Open cabinet doors beneath sinks to so warm air will circulate around pipes. Allow water to trickle from faucets when temperatures drop below freezing. Keep furnace set no lower than 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If your pipes have already frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw the pipe. Point a space heater at the pipe or the wall containing the frozen pipe. Never use an open flame to heat a pipe! If necessary, call a plumber to thaw pipes. If a frozen pipe has burst, turn off the main water supply valve in the house and open faucets to relieve pressure and minimize damage.
Recent Customer Reviews
When I called to make an appointment I was very impressed with the women who answered the phone. She was an absolute pleasure to talk to. She filled me in ... on a lot of information that I was not aware off. As far as the service it was great. I would definitely recommend them to anyone having a problem. I have already recommended their service to a few people. Very happy with their service.
John arrived on schedule and took a few minutes to thoroughly check out the leak and determined what was needed. He was quite knowledgeable, very ... professional, and made sure that the pipe was capped off , no more drips, and sealed dry. I greatly appreciated his calm and pleasant demeanor because this was a very difficult situation for me, and he resolved it perfectly. I had called 7 local plumbers overnight, with no response. My friend emailed me quite early this morning and suggested I call Roto Rooter..... I am so thankful that I did!
They came same day called and arrived within time frame Beverly after we received a call saying there were running a little late. It took about an hour and the ... problem is completely fixed. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very friendly and polite.
