Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water cleanup is the

Water sustainability sponsor of the Cincinnati Zoo

We’ve teamed up with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden®, the Greenest Zoo in America®.

Leading the Way in Water Conservation

The Cincinnati Zoo is a model for other zoos and attractions when it comes to sustainability and water conservation. The zoo has cut its annual water usage by 84% since 2005, going from 250 million gallons to just 40 million gallons per year.

Roto-Rooter Proudly Sponsors the zoo’s water sustainability initiative

Manatee Springs

The Florida Manatees are a favorite of zoo visitors because the Manatee Springs habitat, supported by Roto-Rooter, allows viewers to come face to face with underwater manatees in a lifelike environment, separated only by an enormous glass wall.
The Cincinnati Zoo partners with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in Florida to bring injured, starving, and orphaned manatees to the Cincinnati Zoo where they are nursed back to health then re-released back into the wild. The zoo has rehabilitated 19 Florida manatees since 1999.

Roo Valley Waterfall

As its name suggests, Roo Valley is primarily a kangaroo habitat, but the “roos” share this vast space with other Australian species, including Little Blue Penguins.
With its rocky surface, large beach and pool, Roo Valley looks like the natural home for these species. Roto-Rooter is proud to support this beautiful and lifelike habitat that allows the threatened Little Blue Penguins to thrive and breed.

African Penguin Point

The first thing you’ll notice about African Penguins is that they love spending time in the water. The Penguin Point habitat, supported by Roto-Rooter, was developed to satisfy the natural needs, habits, and preferences of this endangered penguin species.
The habitat is decked out with features that mimic the penguins’ natural environment, including water misters. A giant lifelike pool is equipped with underwater jets that simulate undercurrents found in nature. This spacious and complex home promotes optimal health and natural behavior.

WE'RE FRIENDS WITH FIONA!

Fiona is the Cincinnati Zoo’s most famous star. She captured the world’s attention in 2017 after she was born six weeks premature and became the smallest hippo to survive at birth. This adorable girl spends most of her time swimming in the crystal clear 70,000-gallon pool at the Hippo Cove habitat.
