Spencer Lee is chief executive officer of Roto-Rooter Group. He is based in Roto-Rooter's corporate headquarters in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Lee was born in South Korea on September 20, 1955. He immigrated to the United States as a teenager and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He received his BA in Economics from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California in 1978. He earned his MBA from The University of Chicago in 1980.
In July 1980, Spencer joined Chemed Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio (Roto-Rooter's parent company) as assistant to the president. In 1981, he was appointed director of development of Roto-Rooter Group in Cincinnati. In 1983 he was appointed assistant branch manager of the Roto-Rooter Branch in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1984, he was named regional vice president (of Roto-Rooter's Mid-Atlantic Region and in 1996 of Northeast Region) and he was based in Baltimore, Maryland.
In 1996, Spencer was promoted to senior vice president operations, based at Roto-Rooter headquarters in Cincinnati. Finally, in 1999, he was appointed chief executive officer of Roto-Rooter Group. Spencer is married with two children. He is fluent in English and Korean.
President and Chief Operating Officer, Roto-Rooter Services Company
Rick Arquilla is the president and chief operating officer of Roto-Rooter Services Company, North America's largest provider of plumbing repair and drain services. He is based at Roto-Rooter's corporate headquarters in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
In 1989, Arquilla joined Roto-Rooter Services Company as vice president of the company's Central Region, a position he held during one of the company's most dramatic periods of growth. In 1996, Arquilla was promoted to senior vice president of operations. Three years later, in 1999, he was promoted to his current position of president and chief operating officer. He oversees the operations side of Roto-Rooter's service business and spends much of his time at branch locations working with general and regional managers to ensure that Roto-Rooter is providing top quality plumbing and drain service.
Rick was born March 14, 1953. He grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1975. His first job after college was a sales position with The William Powell Company of Cincinnati. Three years later he accepted a sales position at Thompson & Hamilton, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio. In 1981, he was named General Manager of Technical Industries, Inc. of Cincinnati. And in 1983, he was named Vice President and General Manager of Chemlawn Commercial Services in Columbus, Ohio.
Rick may be best recognized as the featured “boss” on an episode of CBS Television's Undercover Boss program, which aired in the United States and Canada on April 4, 2010 and again on July 25, 2010. The show is currently airing in international markets and has already aired in Norway, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
Rick is married with three daughters and resides in the Cincinnati area.
President, Roto-Rooter Corporation
Frank Castillo is president of Roto-Rooter Corporation and is based at the company's offices and manufacturing facility in West Des Moines, Iowa. Frank oversees Roto-Rooter’s network of independent franchises as well as the production of Roto-Rooter sewer and drain cleaning machinery, cables, blades and other equipment.
Frank began his career with Roto-Rooter in 1988 as an account manager for Roto-Rooter Corporation. He joined Roto-Rooter Services Company in 1993 as the general manager of the San Antonio service branch and later he served as general manager of the Chicago West and Chicago North branches. In 1999, Frank returned to Roto-Rooter Corporation in West Des Moines and was named director of sales. In 2001, Frank became the Vice President of Operations for HUDCO, Incorporated, which owned and operated a number of independent Roto-Rooter franchise locations. In 2011, Frank rejoined Roto-Rooter Services Company as general manager of the Kansas City Branch and his branch was subsequently named Roto-Rooter Services Company Branch of the Year in 2012.
Frank was promoted to president of Roto-Rooter Corporation in March 2013.
Robert P. Goldschmidt
Executive Vice President, Roto-Rooter Services Company
Robert Goldschmidt is executive vice president of Roto-Rooter Services Company. In this position, Robert has responsibility for marketing, corporate call centers, information technology, acquisitions and employee relations. He is based in Roto-Rooter’s corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. Robert received his BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia in 1983. He earned an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1989.
In August 1989, Robert began his career at Chemed Corporation (Roto-Rooter’s parent company) as Assistant to the President. In 1992, he joined Roto-Rooter as director of development, where he focused his efforts on growing the company via the acquisition of independent Roto-Rooter franchises. Since 1992, Robert has completed over 100 acquisitions. In 1999, Robert was promoted to vice president. He was given responsibility for developing and operating a network of internal company-operated call centers in 2001. In 2003, he added marketing to his areas of responsibility and was promoted to the position of senior vice president. In 2007, Robert took on responsibility for Employee Relations. In 2014, Robert began oversight of the IT Department and in 2015 was promoted to executive vice president. Robert is married and has two children.
Mark A. Conners
Executive Vice President of Contractor Operations, Roto-Rooter Services Company
Mark Conners is executive vice president of Contractor Operations at Roto-Rooter Services Company. He is based in Roto-Rooter's corporate headquarters in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Mark was born in 1957 and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his BA in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. Mark is married with one daughter and resides in the Cincinnati area.
Mark joined Roto-Rooter Services Company in 1984 as a regional controller. In 1988 he assisted with the expansion of contractor operations. The total Roto-Rooter Contractor system provides service in 64 US markets and 5 Canadian markets. Mark was later promoted to director of contractor operations. In 1997 he became vice president and in 2015 was promoted to executive vice president.
Vice President of Finance, Roto-Rooter Services Company
Karen is the vice president of finance for Roto-Rooter Services Company. In this position, Karen is based at Roto-Rooter’s headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio and is responsible for benefits, risk management, payroll, financial reporting and accounting.
Karen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at the University of Cincinnati in 1981 and her Master’s degree in Finance from Xavier University.
In June 1981, Karen was hired as a staff accountant at DuBois Chemical Company, then a division of Chemed Corporation. At DuBois, Karen held various accounting management positions. When Chemed sold DuBois in 1991, Karen followed the acquisition and held the DuBois Controller’s position before being named Director of Finance of DiverseyLever’s Food Division.
Eager to return to Chemed Corporation, Karen joined Chemed’s Roto-Rooter Services Company in 2007 as director of accounting and became involved in all areas of accounting, payroll, benefits and insurance.
Karen is married with two children and resides in the Cincinnati area.
Chief Technology Officer, Roto-Rooter Services Company
Paul Naglich is the chief technology officer at Roto-Rooter Services Company. Paul has responsibility for all information technology services including application development, infrastructure operations and end user services. He is located at the Roto-Rooter corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Paul is a 25+ year IT veteran who joined Roto-Rooter in April 2013. He started his career in information technology as a personal computer technician in 1989. Over the years Paul has taken on several roles in IT ranging from infrastructure engineering, development of applications and services, data center operations and business process improvement. Paul has held senior leadership roles with both national and global companies such as Siemens, Verizon, and Ernst & Young. Paul received his BS/BA from Almeda University.
Paul and his team recognize the impact IT has on the business and his team will leverage new technology to meet both the residential and commercial customer requirements moving forward.
Director of Public Relations, Roto-Rooter Services Company
Paul Abrams is the director of public relations at Roto-Rooter Services Company, the largest provider of plumbing repair and drain cleaning services in the U.S. and Canada. Paul is based at the company's corporate headquarters in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
A former television news reporter, Paul oversees Roto-Rooter's public relations and news media relations efforts, including social networks and blogging. He designed Roto-Rooter's ROTOGreen program, which educates the public about water conservation and effective green plumbing products and services that save water and energy.
Paul also is the company's liaison to the Sy Fy TV show, Ghost Hunters, which features two real life Roto-Rooter service technicians.
Paul is a 1991 graduate of The University of Texas – Arlington where he earned a bachelor's degree in Radio-Television Broadcast Communications. Upon graduation he joined KXAS-TV (NBC 5) in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas as an associate producer and assistant assignments coordinator. He was hired by KLTV-TV (ABC 7) in Tyler-Longview, Texas as a news reporter in 1993. He served as Marketing/Communications Director at Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Company (and later Snyder International Brewing Group) of Cincinnati beginning in August 1996. He was recruited by Roto-Rooter and hired as public relations manager in January 2003. Paul was promoted to director of public relations in June 2011. Paul is married and has two sons. He resides in the Cincinnati area.
