Yesterday, I had a very unusual, and disappointing "no-call no-show" from Roto Rooter! But today, the two guys from Roto Rooter that came (as scheduled) to fix my hot water heater were SO VERY fast, friendly and competent, that they totally made up for my lousey experience yesterday!

Charlie Richter did a very good plumbing job for us. We were adding a half bath in our utility room; along with rearranging our washer, dryer and laundry tub. Our house is on a crawl space and it is difficult to work on the plumbing under there but Charlie did a great job getting everything connected both in the crawl space and in the utility room. We would definitely recommend him for your plumbing job!

My appointment was between 8:00 till Noon. The technician arrived around 4:30 that day. I still do not understand why if I was schedule for a morning slot and wasn't told that it would be late afternoon. I believe that GOOD customer service was to phone the client and either rescheduled . It is ok the tell the customer the truth up front. My technician was a young man, who I fell that went out of his why to make this right, I can not vouch for the rest of the team, but this young man is a keeper, and has great people skills .

Thank you so much for the ability to register my feedback about my recent experience with Roto-Rooter. The decision I made to call your company for my plumbing problem was based on two reasons. 1. The lack of a reputable company that would take my problem seriously and show up when promised. All the plumbing companies I called either said they would call me back (of course they never did) or they just didn’t show up at all. 2. A personal friend (home inspector) advised me that your company would provide me the best customer service and see to it that the problem was solved. He also advised me that although I may pay a little more the job would be done on time and correctly and that you would stand behind your work. Based on the two above reasons, I called and your company was there on the requested day and time frame. I complained of an awful smell coming from my bathroom. I did not know the origin of this smell. When the technician arrived with an apprentice they removed my toiled in hopes of installing a new wax seal. When the toilet was removed and put in my bathtub the technician told me that it showed that more than the seal needed to be added. When the technician discovered that it was not a simple fix they put the toilet back without anything holding it into place. It was unstable and dangerous to sit on. They also told me that the toilet could be used but to be careful because it was not attached to the floor in any way. The technician’s name is James but he did not give me his employee number. He did not even tell me about the website to rate my technical. The first time I flushed the toilet water poured onto my floor. The remainder of the day and evening I had to use the bathroom in a bucket. This was so not a very easy thing for me to do considering I have had two hip replacements. The technical called the office and advised them that a plumber was necessary. The office scheduled a plumber to be dispatched the next day. When the plumber (Steve 1188) arrived the next day the toilet was not lifted. Steve told me that the floor would need some work done to it before he could install the necessary hardware and wax seal. He based that decision based on James's (the first technical that saw the problem) feedback. James told me that I would need a new floor and that they couldn’t do anything until that was done. This news from the first technician put me in a panic. I decided I would wait to have this extensive work done until the plumber could return on the 3rd day to make sure that this was the issue. When Steve (technician 1188) come back he removed the toilet. To his surprise, the floor was not as bad as the first technician had made it seem. Steve did not understand why the James had not fixed the problem. Steve advised me that he would have the problem fixed in an hour or so. I could not believe that I had two totally different assessments of my problem. Steve completed the job with the utmost respect of my home and myself. Based on the first technician’s assessment I was without the use of a toilet for two days which was totally unacceptable. If it was not for Steve I do not know what I would have done. It was my opinion that James (the first technician) saw that the job was not an easy fix and decided to pass it on to someone else putting me in an awful position. Please give Steve #1188 a ***** five star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a job well done. He went out of his way to insure the problem was fixed insuring me that my safety was his biggest concern. That is so rare these days. It’s usually about the money and how easily the job can be completed. Steve #1188 made sure that the toilet was installed correctly and that it was totally stable for me. He also cleaned the bathroom floor where he caused a mess!!! I can’t rate Steve any higher. If you had 30 stars he earned them. I hope this is reflected in his file since this is a man that needs to continue to work for your company. Losing him would be a great loss. Please give James (number unknown) a * for a difficult job that I considered he was not willing to do.
