Dollar Shave Club Asks Roto-Rooter To Weigh-In On Flushing Facts

Mel Magazine, Dollar Shave Club’s men magazine, sought out Roto-Rooter to officially put to rest what you can and cannot flush down your toilet. The “cannot” list heavily outweighs the “can” list by what Mel Magazine writer, Ian Lecklitner, calls, “an incredibly long (and horrifying) list of bizarre items”. The informative article focuses on the less talked about topic of flushing contact lenses and how over three billion contact lenses are flushed every year adding to the growing issue of microplastic pollution in the oceans.

Some popularly flushed items are baby wipes, Q-tips, dental floss, and paper towels. Some of the more out-of-the-ordinary items flushed include cell phones, batteries, boxer shorts, razors, and toys. By flushing any of items from this article, not only could you cause water pollution but also major plumbing damage that could be costly.

If you find yourself in over your head from a flushing mishap, be sure to reach out to your local Roto-Rooter.
