Basement Drains
A basement drain is installed beneath a basement floor to move water out of a basement as quickly as possible. Used in combination with an exterior perimeter drainage system, interior basement drains channel water away from the foundation and into the sump pit where it is discharged outside and away from the home.
Cracks in basement floors are often caused by trapped rising water. An interior drainage system that is placed next to the footing, not on top of the footing, relieves water pressure from beneath the floor by taking the water and channeling it to the sump pit where it can be properly managed.
By installing a complete basement drainage system, basement leaks and groundwater problems will stop. A water management system of this type also eliminates musty odors, mold and mildew so your basement can be turned into a safe, dry living space. Roto-Rooter is the only waterproofing company we know of that uses its own licensed plumbers to install basement drain systems.
