NORFOLK WOMAN / NAVY WIFE WINS
PIMPED OUT POWDER ROOM SWEEPSTAKES
Prize is perfect send-off as winner and family depart U.S. for Japan deployment
(Cincinnati, OH April 22, 2008) Not everyone considers the toilet to be the center of their personal universe. Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service is happy to argue the point though. The company's latest sweepstakes offered women the chance to win a super toilet equipped with every conceivable luxury and convenience. Only one winner was drawn randomly by computer from 270,000 entrants and she is 33-year-old Sally Urban of Norfolk, Virginia.
Urban, a mom and Navy wife looks at winning the sweepstakes as perhaps the best bon voyage send-off one could receive. She and her 22-month old son, Mayo, are packing up to leave Norfolk on Friday. They are following Sally's husband, Navy Lieutenant Commander William Urban, to Yokosuka, Japan, the new home port of the USS George Washington, the aircraft carrier on which he serves as the ship's Public Affairs Officer.
"First, I can't believe I won this amazing sweepstakes and second, Roto-Rooter is delivering the prize this week while I have movers packing us up on Wednesday; I'm closing on the sale of our home Thursday and we are leaving town on Friday," said Urban.
"Roto-Rooter had not planned to announce the winner or deliver the prize until April 25th, National Plumbers Day, but the winner's circumstances required us to move up our scheduled announcement in order to accommodate Sally and her family's very busy schedule," said Paul Abrams, spokesman for Roto-Rooter. "Our delivery team will actually arrive on Wednesday to hand over the Pimped out Powder Room components to Sally's movers and everything will be almost immediately packed up for the move along with the rest of the family's belongings," he added. The prize delivery truck is scheduled to arrive at Urban's home between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at 6849 Pallister Road in Norfolk. Roto-Rooter managers will be there to offer congratulations.
So what is the Pimped out Powder Room? It was designed to make the bathroom the most comfortable room in the house by equipping a toilet with everything from a pink Sony Vaio laptop computer to a pedicure foot bath, built-in salon-style hairdryer, a steam-proof mirror that doubles as a TV with its own heated towel rack, personal refrigerator and much more. Almost every component is pink or white.
It's no exaggeration to say the toilet itself is the cream of the crop. Roto-Rooter's Pimped out Powder Room sweepstakes was designed to reach women, who happen to make the most calls to Roto-Rooter for plumbing service - 55% of the time. "We really had our sights set on making our brand more familiar and relevant to women between the ages of 18-35 by getting them to our web site and showing them how simple it is to schedule plumbing service on-line around their busy schedules," said Abrams. Sally Urban is exactly the kind of busy young mom Roto-Rooter is trying to reach."
Urban's husband is already deployed aboard USS George Washington. Sally and her son plan to meet the ship when it arrives in Japan.
Roto-Rooter kicked off the web-based sweepstakes at RotoRooter.com on January 21, the week of Thomas Crapper Day. There were no special requirements for entering, only a simple registration on the company's web site.
Roto-Rooter hired the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders to serve as spokespersons for the sweepstakes and to star in a Pimped out Powder Room promotional video on YouTube. The sweepstakes has received coverage from around the globe and follows the company's 2007 Pimped out John Sweepstakes, a toilet designed for men, which included a beer tap and an Xbox 360.
Roto-Rooter was established in 1935 and today is the largest provider of plumbing and drain cleaning services in the United States and Canada. Roto-Rooter is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chemed Corporation. Roto-Rooter operates businesses in more than 110 company-owned territories and more than 500 franchise territories serving approximately 90 percent of the U.S. population.
TAKE A WALK ON THE FEMININE SIDE WITH ONE-OF-A-KIND
"PIMPED OUT POWDER ROOM"
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Launch Roto-Rooter's Girly Bathroom
(Cincinnati, Ohio - Jan. 22, 2008) - The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and Roto-Rooter have teamed up to announce the perfect place to watch football's most anticipated game: the bathroom!
By way of its Pimped out Powder Room, Roto-Rooter will offer one lucky woman (or man) a few more excuses to spend
time in the most-frequented room in the house. For starters: a salon-style hair dryer, a pedicure tub, a Nintendo®
Wii™ and a triple-threat, flat-screen TV (perfect for viewing the Big Game) that also functions as a mirror and a
heated towel rack.
This ultimate bathroom destination for the modern woman was created as a follow-up to last year's Pimped out
John sweepstakes. More than 300,000 people entered to win the wacky custom-made commode decked out with
every imaginable luxury enhancement, from an Xbox and LCD TV to a kegorator and bike pedals.
For the sweepstakes' second year, the company put a feminine touch on the prize as a shout out to those who
make the most service calls: women. "Roto-Rooter understands that when it becomes necessary to seek high-
quality plumbing and drain service, women make that call 55 percent of the time," said Paul Abrams, Roto-
Rooter's public relations manager. "As a thank you, we've created a truly female-inspired refuge."

Why the cheerleader tie-in? According to Abrams, "The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are not only notoriously
feminine, they're extremely busy. To be a member of the squad, the women must be enrolled in college or
working part or full-time, not to mention the long hours of physical and mental conditioning they go through to
make the team. Whether waiting for practice to start or to hit the field, they spend hours in locker rooms each
week where they not only get ready and perfect their routines, but also do homework and check e-mail. As
football mania sweeps the nation, we're honored to partner with the NFL's most elite, squad perfect
representatives for a prize specifically designed to rejuvenate women pressed for time."
As far as the cheerleaders are concerned, the Pimped out Powder Room is a touchdown. "What woman wouldn't
want these amenities?" asks Megan Fox, four-year cheerleading veteran. "I'm all for pampering now and again,
but the real beauty of the Pimped out Powder Room is the multi-tasking it encourages. You can dry your hair,
soak your feet, make a cup of tea, check your e-mail and catch up on the game all while sitting on what's sure
to be the most comfortable seat in your home. They've thought of everything!"
Tired of towels lying all over your bathroom floor? Try hanging them up on a state-of-the-art TV that doubles as a
towel rack AND mirror. Is that staticy alarm clock radio prohibiting you from channeling your best Beyoncé?
Crank your iPod Touch. Sudoku not cutting it? Watch a DVD while soaking those tired feet in your pedicure tub.
Gunky mascara got you down? Roto-Rooter's also throwing in a complete line of top-notch cosmetics along with
two sets of fluffy pink and white towels.
Roto-Rooter will even come to your home to install the Pimped out Powder Room!
