What is a water jetter, and can it help with blockage in my drain lines?

Often times, drain lines can become clogged with grease or other hard-to-clean out substances, such as sand or sludge. A water jetter may be the solution, and Roto-Rooter can help. Water jetting is an efficient, economical and environmentally safe way to clean drain and sewer pipes.

How does a water jetter work?

Water jetters use water pressure to effectively clean out drain and sewer lines. Using state-of-the-art pumps and flexible hoses, water is propelled under varying amounts of pressure into the sewer or drain line. A special nozzle mounted on the end of a heavy-duty hose has forward and reverse water jets, which direct powerful, concentrated streams of water all the way to the pipe walls.

What’s the difference between a cable machine and a water jetter?

Cable machines are used to remove tree roots and break through solid obstructions. However, they are less effective in removing softer blockages such as grease, scale and other buildup. Cable machines will bore holes through sludge but they can't clean and push debris out of pipes as effectively as a water jet machine. Water jetters clean lines so thoroughly, pipes look like new!

Roto-Rooter plumbing and drain professionals can provide assistance when homeowners experience plumbing-related problems inside or outside of the home.
