Once your newspaper is laid down, use a metal spoon to scrape the inside of the pumpkin.

Start with one pile of the pumpkin scrapings on the newspaper.

When the inside of the pumpkin is clean, separate the seeds into a second pile.

If you don't have a compost pile, use the newspaper to dispose of the leftover pumpkin in the trash can.

Transfer your pumpkin seeds directly from the paper to a baking sheet or pour into a bowl for rinsing.
