Water Heaters

The job of a water heater is in the name: to heater water. Because there isn't always hot water running, a storage tank fills up and the temperature is maintained until the water is used. Over time, all of the heating and cooling of water in a heater tank can start to put a lot of mileage on the system. If a tune-up or cleaning of some kind isn't done regularly, not only will you lose a lot of years off the appliance, it will also struggle to perform during those years.

Water Heater Flushing

One of the best ways to get a water heater working like new again is to simply flush out all of the water and allow the soot and dirt to get blown out of the bottom of the tank. These cleanings are excellent for making the system run more efficiently and last a few years longer.

  • First, attach a hose to the drainage valve.
  • Run the hose to the sink.
  • Open the drainage valve.
  • Let the water drain out completely, even after it starts to drain cold water.
  • Allow the cold water to flush out the system and push out all of the grime.
  • Close the drainage valve firmly and allow the tank to fill completely.
