Queens plumbers of Roto-Rooter in New York offer ways to gauge toilet efficiency

May 19th, 2010 by Roto-Rooter Bloggers

Our Queens plumbers in New York would like to provide you with some information to determine your toilet’s level of efficiency.  If your toilet was made before 1994, it is most likely the main contributing factor for an unnecessarily large portion of your home’s water bill.  Most older toilets use at least 3.5 gallons per flush (gpf), thus making them inefficient when comparing them to newer low-flow models, which use approximately 1.6 gpf.  Low-flow toilets are a great option to take advantage of and still provide the same amount of flushing power while conserving a substantial amount of water.  One of Roto-Rooter’s Queens’ plumbers can install a new efficient toilet, which will noticeably save you money on a monthly basis.

There are also several new environmentally-friendly toilet designs on the market, which are now pushing the envelope to conserve the most amount of water as possible.  Some designs offer a dual flushing system, which uses as low as 0.9 gpf.  Roto-Rooter can order a toilet of your choice or you are welcome to purchase a toilet on your own.  In either case, we would be happy to install it for you.

If you are considering switching to a more efficient toilet model, don’t hesitate to contact our Queens Plumbers in New York at (718) 263-2360 or visit our Queens plumber Web site for more information and online scheduling.

Basement Drain is Clogged

March 16th, 2009 by Ray Lee Master Plumbers
I believe my basement drain is plugged or possibly caved in. It does not drain into the main sewer line.

If you believe the main drain has caved in you will need to get a Queens plumber of Roto-Rooter out with a fiber optic camera to find the problem location and then determine a course of action. But if the line is just clogged, you may want us to try and clean it before you invest in the camera inspection. Ask your local Roto-Rooter though, in some areas such as in Seattle, we will wave the camera charges if you need your line cleaned.

In any case, have a tech look at your residential plumbing. They will be able to suggest the best course of action. To schedule a Queens plumbing visit call 1-800-GET-ROTO.
